Role Overview
The Junior Officer will support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the Hub. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing payments, assisting in budgeting, ensuring statutory compliance, preparing financial reports, and supporting audits in accordance with IIT Hyderabad, TiHAN Foundation, and Government of India financial guidelines. The ideal candidate should be below 35 years of age and possess strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic research and innovation environment.
Qualifications

B.Com./M.Com./MBA (Finance)/CA (Inter)/ICWA (Inter) or equivalent qualification
and a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Experience
- 2- 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or audit functions in educational institutions, research organisations, government organisations, PSUs, or reputed private organisations.
- Experience in handling government-funded projects will be an added advantage.
Compensation
- Rs. 25000 to 30000 /- per month based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Office Operations
- Maintain books of accounts and accounting records.
- Record financial transactions accurately in accounting software.
- Prepare journal entries, payment vouchers, receipt vouchers, and contra entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts on a regular basis.
- Perform routine administrative activities and ensure smooth office operations.
Payments & Receivables
- Process vendor invoices, reimbursements, honorarium, consultancy payments, and employee claims.
- Verify supporting documents before processing payments.
- Monitor receivables and follow up on pending collections.
- Maintain records of advances and settlements.
Budgeting & Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget utilization and expenditure against approved allocations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Generate MIS reports for management review.
Statutory Compliance
- Assist in GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax compliances, and support PFMS portal operations, including transaction processing, payment monitoring, reconciliation, and maintenance of related financial records, as applicable.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and maintenance of related records.
- Maintain compliance with government and institutional financial regulations.
Audit & Documentation
- Prepare schedules and supporting documents for internal and statutory audits.
- Coordinate with auditors during audit processes.
- Maintain proper documentation of financial records, vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with audit observations and recommendations.
Project & Grant Accounting
- Maintain financial records for sponsored research projects and grants.
- Track project expenditures and fund utilization.
- Assist in the preparation of Utilization Certificates (UCs), Statements of Expenditure (SoE), and financial reports for funding agencies such as DST and other government bodies.
Procurement & Finance Coordination
- Verify purchase-related financial documents.
- Coordinate with procurement and administration teams for payment processing.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and inventory-related financial records.
Any Other Responsibilities
- Perform any finance and accounts-related duties assigned by the management from time to time.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of Tally ERP, Tally Prime, or similar accounting software.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures, including the General Financial Rules (GFR), Public Financial Management System (PFMS), and other applicable regulations for government-funded projects, is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial data analysis.
- Familiarity with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other statutory regulations.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures for government-funded projects is desirable.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Nature of Appointment
- Contractual position for a period of 11 months, extendable based on performance and organisational requirements.
Selection Procedure
