The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, driving growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and revenue generation of TiHAN-IITH of Excellence in autonomous navigation and data acquisition systems. The manager will play a pivotal role in building relationships with stakeholders, industry, academia, government agencies and investors, and to position the TiHAN-IITH as a leading hub for cutting-edge technological advancements in autonomous navigation and smart mobility solutions. The ideal candidate should be below 35 Years of age and Possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in business development, with exposure to technology commercialization and a strong understanding of the technology innovation ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying and implement new business opportunities, driving growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and revenue generation to expand TiHAN’s customer base, revenue, and market share.
- Identify and prioritize high-potential markets and sectors for expansion in TiHAN-IITH technologies, like autonomous navigation systems and smart mobility.
- Identify, generate, and convert leads for strategic partnerships and research collaborations.
- Build a network of stakeholders across technology companies, government bodies, and investors to promote TiHAN-IITH testbed, R&D projects, startups, and innovations.
- Oversee CRM systems and maintain strategic relationship databases.
- Coordinate complex MoUs, EOIs, and multi-party agreements.
- Monitor market trends and the competitive landscape for strategic opportunities.
- Develop proposals, negotiate agreements, and close deals to secure new business opportunities.
- Create alliances with angel investors, venture capitalists, and other ecosystem players to drive and implement the commercialization of technologies.
- Develop research-based brand positioning strategies to elevate TiHAN-IITH profile globally and locally, positioning TiHAN as a hub for cutting-edge technological advancements.
- Enhance TiHAN-IITH visibility by publishing success stories, launching marketing campaigns, and increasing digital presence.
- Design and execute business development marketing campaigns, seminars, and events to promote TiHAN-IITH offerings.
- Track and analyze business development metrics and use performance data to refine strategies and report on success metrics.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry advancements, competitors’ activities, and market trends, providing data-driven insights to guide growth strategies.
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
Desired Profile
- 6 years of experience in marketing, managing strategic business development, planning, and sales in the tech industry.
- Experience and understanding of innovation, startup ecosystems, technology and infrastructure projects, and technology commercialization.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Proven track record of building business proposals and strategic alliances/partnerships with startups, investors, industry, academia, and government.
- Comfortable working in a matrixed organization, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other productivity tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology is preferred
- Postgraduate degree in Management Sciences, related field
